'Les Mains Chaudes' is a handmade mitten-collection designed by Dutch designer Anneloes Ouwehand.
Inspiration for the 'Les Mains Chaudes'-line is found from research on the influences of time on the beauty of great divas in the past such as Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve and Veruschka. A result of this study was that although in their faces a youthful beauty remained, their hands revealed the elegance of their true age.
Each pair is made from the finest quality leather or suede. For the upper-part of the mittens she uses silk, lace or cotton. The playful and unexpected details like embroideries, quilting or ruffles make them unique.
All mittens are lined with red fleece, so besides the fact that they look fun and luxurious, these mittens will also keep your hands warm!
The 'Les Mains Chaudes' collection is produced in small quantities where each item is numbered to underscore the exclusivity of the line because Anneloes believes in quality above quantity.
Anneloes Ouwehand is an Amsterdam based fashion designer. She graduated from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute in the summer of 2006 after a traineeship at ‘Gaspard Yurkievich’ in Paris.
Anneloes finds a lot of her inspiration in art and photography. Artists like Francesco Vezzoli, Ray Ceasar and Busbey Berkeley, whom all include elements of alienation or ‘surrealism’ in their work.
Anneloes Ouwehand already had national and international success with her mitten-line ‘Les Mains Chaudes’. Her collection ‘Mirror Mirror’ was presented during Amsterdam International Fashion Week and with her graduation collection ‘Blinded by Reality’ she was nominated for a Createurope Award.
Currently Anneloes works as a freelance fashion designer focusing on tailoring and hand-made items but she also works for magazines, trend watchers, she teaches and creates her own collections.
